I concur (and I'm a scientist!) No other therapy would have worked for me, and the work I did with Joe was amazingly effective at bringing me back to life. I have anecdotal evidence illustrating the power of permission to 'make it up', and the power of permission to experiment:

One time, while in session with Joe, I leapt to the conclusion that, since I was 'just making it up', there was probably no wrong answer to any of the questions.

However, just at that time, we were shifting a feeling, and he asked me: "...and in becoming like a gas, if this part of you were free to take on any color; any color or colors of the rainbow..." and although the part of me that was about to explore a shift in the direction of yellow, before I really allowed it to experience how that would feel, I blurted: "Red."

Now this was a weird experience! Instantly, something was quite wrong. The gas did not turn red... and when I mentally tried to coax it into trying to doing so, I felt physically very uncomfortable. Emotionally, my experience bore a strong resemblance to how it feels to lie. I will never forget my bafflement.

I don't know if you remember at all, Joe, but after a pause, I corrected myself, saying "no, I think it's yellow, but I need extra time to really let it try it on for size..." Truthfully, I needed the extra time to apologize to my feeling mind, which allowed this one part to continue intuitive exploration on its healing path.

I feel very blessed to have recollection of an important moment: that day, I recognized that - although I must be convinced I'm free to imagine anything - I'm just getting my mind to give my intuition permission to BE; getting my brain to refrain from interfering (and focus instead on its easy role as translator), while the deep wisdom of my feeling mind shows me my true colors, and I rediscover who I truly am.

I love it , and I laugh inside, every time I hear the question
"What feels true for you?"
